This week is another interlude between main chapters — but don’t skip it. The medical and research team presents its findings to the village, and what they’ve discovered reshapes everything.
Adults have stopped aging. Telomeres are stable. Children still grow normally, but no resident appears older than roughly seventy. Every single person in the village carries microscopic foreign structures in their bodies — structures consistent with nanotechnology. The air itself contains CBD, released in targeted doses during moments of high stress, explaining the eerie calm that has settled over a community of kidnapped strangers. Violence is nearly nonexistent. Breakdowns barely happen. And none of it is natural.
Meanwhile, the community builds what normalcy it can — radio stations, musical events, routines that feel almost like living.
But the question hanging over all of it: why are their captors keeping them healthy, calm, and young? What are they being prepared for?
