In this week’s new chapter, The Voice of Elara, the villagers make contact with the ship that imprisons them. Elara speaks to them, offering assistance in their eventual escape and confirming many theories they had about their environment, but warns the villagers she must carefully unlock the programming kill code in which she is imprisoned. As a good faith offering, Elara allows people to modify any cognitive enhancements from the nanites in their bodies. Samir elects to partially turn them off. Ian tells his husband he will do the same, but privately makes a choice which will impact the future
